1. There are 206 bones in the adult human body - each having unique functions in locomotion, protection and blood cell production!
2. The smallest bone in the human body is the stapes or stirrup bone located in the middle ear. It is approximately 0.28 cm long. So apart from the functions I mentioned above, bones are also critical in the hearing function. A condition called otosclerosis that fuses these tiny bones can cause deafness. By the way, this happened to my grandma when she was in her 20s and her doctor told her that if someone proposed to her she would have missed it all...

3. The funny bone is not actually a bone but a nerve. The ulnar nerve runs in a groove just inside your elbow and hitting that spot where the nerve runs between the skin and the bony groove will give an instant "electric shock". I think the sensation would be classified as "funny, weird", not "funny, haha".
